The table illustrates the percentage of water consumption used by three sectors – households, industry and agriculture – in four different countries.
Overall, agriculture accounts for the largest proportion of water usage in most of the countries, whereas household consumption is generally the smallest. Industrial use varies noticeably between nations.
In Country A, agriculture dominates water consumption, using 70% of the total supply, while industry accounts for 20%. Household use is comparatively low at only 10%. A similar pattern can be seen in Country B, where farming consumes 65% of water, followed by industry at 25% and households at 10%.
By contrast, Country C shows a more balanced distribution. Industry is the largest consumer at 45%, while agriculture uses 40%. Household water usage is higher than in the previous countries, standing at 15%. In Country D, industrial consumption is the highest among all four countries at 50%, whereas agriculture uses 30%. Household use is the lowest here, at just 20%.
In summary, while agriculture is the main consumer of water in most countries, industrial use becomes more significant in Countries C and D.
