Table illustrates the percentage weight of individuals in on country between 1999 and 2009.
Overall, it is obvious that, while the percentage of woman who were underweight and overweight saw an increase, the percentage of underweight and normal weight men had a slightly low score. Moreover, the percentage of normal weight men and woman both reached the similar percentage in 2009.
For normal weight, in 1999, 49% of women were recorded in this category, making it the highest figure among the three groups and 8% higher than men, who stood at 41%. Although there were some fluctuations over the years, by 2009 both genders reached the same proportion of 47%, which represented the peak for each group.
Regarding underweight and overweight categories, men and women showed a similar upward trend, reaching 23% and 28% respectively. In contrast, the pattern for overweight differed. While the proportion of overweight women increased slightly to 19%, the figure for men declined significantly, eventually equalling that of women at 19%.
