The table provides information about proportion of pupils attending four secondary school types from 2000 to 2009.
Overall, the proportion of voluntary-controlled schools showed the highest level in the beginning of the period,but after that it steadily decreased, in contrast to community school, which was increased by the end of the period. Similarly specialist schools remained steady , compared to grammar schools, which experienced decline.
In the beginning of the period Voluntary-controlled schools had the highest figure, about 52%. However, over the the following years it fell to 38 and 20 percentages. In contrast to community school, which had the lowest figure, gradually growth from 12% in 2000 to 32 and 58% in 2005 and 2009.
On the other hand, the number of participants in grammar schools reduced from 24% in the beginning of the period to 12% by the end of the period. Similarly , specialist schools showed only minor changes , from 12% to 10%.
