The chart compares how much money in pounds sterling that France and the UK spent on five items in 2010.
Overall, while France spent more on computers and perfume than the UK, the reverse pattern could be observed in the remaining groups. Additionally, among all the types of items, cars produced was the highest in both France and the UK.
Looking first at two technological goods: cars and computers, GBP 450,000 the UK spent on cars, which is GBP 50,000 higher than the figure for France’s cars. Conversely, expendituring on computers in the UK was GBP 350,000 while this figure for France was slightly higher, at GBP 375,000.
Concerning the remaining kinds of goods, expending a large amount of money on books in France is lower than in the UK, GBP 300,000 in comparison to GBP 400,000. Cameras followed a similar pattern, albeit with a larger difference between France and the UK with respective figures being GBP 170,000 and GBP 350,000. In contrast, there was a spending of GBP 200,000 on perfume which was purchased by France consumers, while the figure for the price of perfume in the UK is slightly lower, at 150,000.
