The table illustrates data on students from a university of Australia in 2009. Overall, Humanities department was the most popular sector among female students, while engineering was the least chosen by them. Although none of the sectors involve more than half first language English students, foreigner students were more than half in Physics and information technology department.
Despite humanities contained most females with 72%, first language not English students were only 12%, and born outside Australia 20%. Education followed with 68% female students, 16% first language not English and 23%from other countries. To compare, the opposite was true for IT, 17% students studied in this field and 49% of them were not first language English students and 56% were born outside from Australia. This was similar for engineering 15% female students with the least figure, 42% not native English speakers, 48% for foreigner students.
Science and physics were well balanced in terms of female students percentage 52% and 56%. In these fields native English speakers percentage was also higher 45% in science and 38% in physics. However, more Australian students educated in science with 31% foreigners while this figure was 565 for physics.
