The table illustrates the percentage of UK residents who allocate their money on three different fields.
Overall, while men tend to spend on education, health accounts the most preference by women. It is also important to note that young people pay attention to education and elderly spend most on healthcare.
Looking first at the proportion for genders, 55% of men believe that governments should invest in education, the highest figure in the table. Additionally, women allocate 40% to education, making it the most attractive field. Moving to healthcare, women spend 48% in this field, 16 percentage points higher than that of men. However, other areas draw the least attention to both genders, 13% for men and 12% for women, the lowest percentage in the table.
Moving to age groups, it is clear that as age increases, the priority of health also grows. While the youngsters just spend 25-35% on health, elderly allocate 72%, the highest proportion of the survey. In contrast, young people are preferring education, 40% people at the age of 28-24 and 52% aged 25-34 prioritise education. This field also experiences the downward trend as age decreases, people at 65+ just spend 12% on education. Finally, other areas are the lowest option among all age groups.
