The table illustrates the proportions of tourists on backpacking holidays and guided tours divided into 4 age groups in New Zealand in 2005. The pie chart shows the shares of tourists who enjoyed their holidays, who did not and who is not sure about it.
According to the table, the older people get, the less they have backpacking holidays and the more they have guided tours. The percentage of people from “18-30” age category had 62% of them participating in backpacking holidays and only 7% of them on the guided tours. However, the proportions of people from the other age categories were below the quarter each. Looking at the shares of people who were visiting guided tours had nearly the half of people from “41-50” age category and below 22% from each other age groups.
Regarding the pie chart, the vast majority of people were enjoying their visit in New Zealand, accounting for just over 4 fifths of the whole percentage and having a huge gap between them and other shares. However, the proportions of people who did not get any satisfaction from the tour and who were not sure constituted for 10% and 7% respectively.
Overall, it is clear from the table that the older people get, the more they tend to change their tastes in adventures. In addition, according to the pie chart, most of the people enjoyed their experience in New Zealand
