The table presents data of the age profile of tourists on backpacking holidays and guided tours in 2005 in New Zealand. Next to the table is a pie chart which illustrates the satisfaction rate of their stay.
Overall, younger people of the age 18 to 40 tend and prefer backpacking rather than guided tours. However, on the contrary, it clearly changes as individuals get older and reach the age of 40 to 50. Guided tours are more used than backpacking.
As it can be seen from the table, 62% of the people from 18-30 prefer backpacking in New Zealand more than guided tours, with a percentage of just 7%. Yet, it shifts at the age of 31-40 with just 23% but the majority still does backpacking more. It decrease not until 41 to 50. The people now tend to take guided tours with a percentage of 57%. On the whole, 83% of the people were satisfied and just 8% of it not, while 7% were not sure.
Therefore, the table shows that younger people are more likely to go backpacking than taking guided tours. It changes as people get older.
