The table gives information about the income from exporting different products in the years between 2009 and 2010. Overall, it is clear that the total export values had increased significantly by 2010, although there were negative trends in the categories of clothing and manufacturing.
Looking more closely at the table, we can see that the value of equipment was by far the highest among all other products, at 10,3 HK billion dollars in 2009, while the figure for metals was only 2,3 HK billion dollars. The money from exporting clothes and manufacturing was almost the same: 6–5,5 HK billion dollars, respectively. By contrast, telecommunity products were sold at 7.9 HK billion dollars, being in second place after equipment in 2009.
By 2010, there had been a decline of 17% and 27% in clothing and manufacturing. However, the export of metals saw a considerable increase of 120%. Similarly, the telecommunity and equipment exports also registered moderate growth in 2010.
