The table reports the comparison between adults in UK aged 18-25, 25-40 and 40-65 years by employment sector in the year 2008.
On an average the younger aged group are more involved in the retail sector while the aged group are more in the manufacturing department.
It is shown that the younger population are more inclined towards retail with highest percentage of involvement 23% in comparison to law and accountancy with 4% and 3% respectively. The middle aged group had higher participation in other sectors that were not mentioned in the table, followed by health and manufacturing department with 15% participation each. This group indicated also indicated lower interest in accountancy and law with 2% and 4% involvement respectively. The higher aged group on the other hand were more inclined towards jobs in manufacturing with 23% followed by jobs in the local government at 18% in total. They also indicated lower involvement or interest in law, accountancy and catering business with 4%,3% and 4% respectively.
