Overall, the number of 50 years old bachelor increased over the years till the end of the given period. While the rate of marriages experienced a sharp decline over the years, however, the divorce ratio considerably went up unlike the previous one.
In 1970, the proportion of 50 years old singles were seen at 2%, although it went up in 1990 to 7%.In next 20 years the number crossed the figures and reached at 15%.
The ratio of marriages in Japan in 1970 was at peak with around a million people getting married, while, in 1980 the number dropped and fluctuated slightly till the year 2000and continue to bottom out till 2016 with 600 thousand marriages. By contrast, the divorce rate in started year was at its lowest around 100 thousand , however, the upward trend was seen in following years. In 2000 the separation rate reached at peak with around 300 thousand separated couples, then the number remained steady for next 16 years.
