Japan from 1970 to 2010.
Overall, Number of 50-year-old adults who have never been married increased over the timeline. Similarly, the number of Divorces in Japan rose significantly, at the same time number of marriages declined rapidly over the given period.
Firstly, In the year 2000, 2010 the proportion of men who are unmarried and are 50 and above was high(12% and 15% each) compared to remaining years in the period. In contrast, in 1970 it was low, only 2% were never married. From 1980 to 1990, there was an increase in proportion(from 4% to 7%).
On the other hand, Number of people who are getting married was 1000,000 in 1970. While, the divorce rate was around 100,000, and the value rose significantly and by 2016 the number of divorces were around 210,000. In the mean time marriage rate decreased steadily at the end of the period only 600,000 married in Japan.
