The given table illustrates the proportion of learners in different fields including humanities, education, science, physics, IT and engineering in 2011.
Overall, it is clear that the percentage of female students was the highest in humanities and education while the opposite was in IT and engineering. In addition, the others was much at IT, engineering and physics, whereas the figure for them in humanities and education was the lowest.
In terms of females who studied in humanities and education reached a peak about 72% and 68% respectively while that in IT and engineering were the lowest accounting for 17 and 15 in turn. Meanwhile, the percentage of students who borned outside Australia was 56% in both physics and IT departments. In contrast, the figure for them in humanities was the smallest which made up 20%.
Regarding non-native learners reached the lowest proportion in the period, with less than 50% students by each departments. It is also notable that the percentage of learners who have first language not English comrised 49% in IT, in comparision, that in humanities was only about 12%.
