the tables given illustrate the revenue made of sales of fairtrade-labelled tea and pineapple in five European countries for 2010 and 2015. The sales are measured in millions of euros.
Overall, most of the countries made a considerable growth in sales for both categories. While France surged in tea sales between 2010 and 2015, Austria also rose significantly by three times its initial revenue for pineapple sales. However, some countries like Norway and Germany dropped in sales for both categories.
In 2015, France soared in tea sales, by going from 2.5 million euros up to 21 million euros, more than 8 times of its initial sales figure. Likewise, Austria increased during the five year period by 4 million euros, which means it doubled the sales going from 4 million euros to 8. On the other hand, Germany, Netherlands and Norway’s tea sales rose slightly from 2.8, 2 and 1.8 respectively to 3, 2.7 and 2 respectively.
Regarding pineapples sales, Austria stood out with the highest figure accounting for 48 million euros in 2015, compared to just 16 million in 2010, which is roughly 3 times the initial sum. In a subsequent rank, France and Netherlands figures also grew making 6.5 and 5 respectively in 2015, in contrast to just 2 and 1.6 in 2010 respectively. Lastly, Norway and Germany experienced a different plan. In fact , they are the only countries whom sales dropped going from 2.8 and 3 respectively to 2 and 1.9 respectively.
