Overall, Europe dominated in the levels of consumption of potatoes, whereas Asia and Oceania emerged as the frontrunners in its production. Moreover, Africa and South and Central America represented the lowest indicators.
Regarding the consumption of the potatoes, Europe demonstrated a striking disparity compared to its counterparts, accounting for 96.1, followed by North America at 57.9. Both Asia and Oceania, and South and Central America recorded similar values at around one quarter, as the former stood at 25.6, while the latter made up 23.6. Conversely, Africa constituted for a mere 14.1.
As for the production, European countries formed 126.3 million; however, they were surpassed by Asia/Oceania at 131.2 million. The figure for North America was equal to 24,7 million, while that of Africa and, South and Central America exhibited close values, at 16.4 and 15.6 million, respectively.
