Overall, it is clear that the sales of both cocoa beans and coffee increased in all five countries over the period. In addition, coffee sales were significantly higher than cocoa bean sales in every country in both years, with the United Kingdom recording the highest figures overall.
In terms of cocoa bean sales, the United Kingdom experienced the highest figures, rising sharply from 13.6 million euros in 2000 to 27.3 million euros in 2005. France also saw a notable increase, with sales doubling from 4.6 to 9.3 million euros. Similarly, Germany and the Netherlands recorded moderate growth, while Switzerland remained the smallest market, despite sales increasing from 0.9 to 1.8 million euros.
Coffee sales were considerably higher across all countries. The UK again led the market, with sales increasing dramatically from 68.3 million euros in 2000 to 137 million euros in 2005. Germany and France also experienced substantial growth, reaching 49.1 and 65.2 million euros respectively. Meanwhile, Switzerland and the Netherlands showed steady increases, although their figures remained lower compared to the other countries.
