Overall, during 2002 India has shown the largest number of international students in the US, in contrast with Canada, where India appeared as the lowest number of students. However, in the US, Indian candidates decreased 9% in 2003, in contrast with Chinese students at the US, which increased 6% in 2003. Moreover, the number of Chinese scholars in Canada went up sharply with 45% difference in comparison with 2002. On the other hand, Canadian candidates in the US had a growth of 7%.
Overall, these two main countries had a huge difference in the total of scholarships. For instance, Canada increased 17%, but the total is no more than 100,000 candidates. Meanwhile, the US with a slight growth of 2% in total, exceeded 500,000 learners which is a wide quantity in comparison with Canada.
