The first image illustrates the growth in number of people in New York City between 1800 and 2000. While second table displays population growth in Manhattan in the same period., third one shows total population in Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, and Staten Island. Overall, over 200 years total number of residents in New York City, combining all five districts, dramatically increased. However, while experiencing huge number of growth in number of inhabitants, Manhattan dropped in portion of total population. In other districts percentage of total population is steadily increased.
From 1800 to 2000, total number of residents in New York City, combining all five districts, dramatically increased from 79,216 to 8,009,185. It shows how important city become over the years, and as a result of population increased by 100 times in 200. Manhattan, one of the biggest cities, experienced rapid growth to 1,850,093 in population in 1900 but later in 200, number of people declined to 1,538,096. Therefore, it lost the high tank of holding 75 per cent of population of New York City. Percentage decreased to 19 in the 2000.
Other 5 districts: Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens. Staten Island had massive increase in number of residents. In 1900 it increased to 1,587,109 from 18,701 then by the 2000, Population tripled and reached 6,471,089.
In conclusion, although population in all districts of New York City rose over the years, total population began to spread from Manhattan to other districts.
