To begin with, in Canada there were 59,870 foreign students in 2002, whereas China started at 5,400 students in the same year followed by the USA at 5 thousand learners. The China trend increased rapidly and reached 7,850 students in 2003 and with 45% of change while the USA figures rose steadily and hit 5,450 students at the end of the period. Moreover the number of students from India experienced a steady increase from 2,100 students in 2002 to just 2,835 in 2003 and also showed 17% of change.
However, in the United States there were the highest number of foreign students that varied from 581,600 at beginning to 592,230 at the end of the period. It is clear that Indian showed the highest number of foreign learners that decreased slowly from 200 thousand learners in 2002 to just 182 thousand learners in 2003 followed by China at 116 thousand in 2003. At the opposite end of the scale, Canada had the lowest number of foreign students in the United States, the trend increased steadily from 31 thousand to 33,170 students throughout the period. In addition, Indian presented the highest change at 7%.
