Overall, in both years, education, healthcare, and environment received the highest ratings from urban residents, while transport had the greatest share of negative reviews in both 1980 and 2010.
The results of the 1980 survey showed that city residents were satisfied with education, healthcare, and the environment, as both education and the environment had 72% good positive reviews, healthcare was considered the best aspect, since it had the highest proportion of good reviews, making up 82% of positive opinions. The remaining aspects, such as shops, employment, and transport, also had good reviews; however, 32% of residents had a bad opinion about transport. Moreover, healthcare had only 10% in the “neither good nor bad” category.
In 2010, education received the highest proportion of good ratings at 82%, and merely 9% were negative. Negative opinions on both the environment and shops accounted for 16%. While the transport received 39% good ratings, the proportion of bad reviews was almost the same, at 38%. Employment received 5% of responses as “neither good nor bad.”
