The given illustration displays the percentage of money spent from the government’s budget on educational courses and the proportion of 18-24-year-old students who attended them in the year 2002.
Overall, the highest rate of participation was in Poland despite the smallest proportion of funds from the government. Similarly, Slovenia ranked second in terms of participation, but also it had the largest share in funding.
Having stood at only 5% in funding, Poland had the highest proportion of students who participated in educational programs with 44%. Slovenia also occupied one of the leading positions with two fifths, but in contrast to other nations, a quarter of government’s money was allocated in education, making Slovenia the predominant section in an expenditure rate.
Czech Republic and Hungary had attendance rates of approximately one third, while Romania accounted for 23%, being the country with the lowest attendance. The expenditure rate of all of these countries ranged from 9% to 13%.
