The pie chart illustrates the expenditures local authorities in Someland spent on different areas during a 20 year period starting from 1980.
In general, while Higher Education, Environmental services and Transport witnessed an increase in their data, the opposite is true to that of K-12 education, Health and Human Resources and Other. It is also clear that Higher Education occupied the biggest percentage of the annual governmental fund.
Looking at figures for Higher Education in more detail, we can see that they increased from 35% and 40% between 1980 and 2000 after experiencing a noticeable rise to 45% in 1990. Like wise, both the proportion of Transport and Environmental services climbed. The former dropped from 16% in 1980 in 1980 to only 6% in 1990, before 22% in 2000. As for the latter, it started at 4% in 1980 and doubled to 9% in 2000.
By contrast, Other’s figured decrease from 6% in 1980 to only 1% in 2000; thus becoming the minority sector of the general data. Similarly, Heath and Human Resources and K-12 Education reduced to 18% and 10% in 2000 respectively.
