The presented pie charts depict the percentages of four various forms of transportation utilized in the UK in 1965, 1985, and 2005.
From an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that private cars, which were the most preferred type, topped the list in these years, whereas recreational vehicles remained the least favourable option.
A closer look at the data reveals that the proportion of personal automobiles, which accounted for 40% in 1965, increased steadily to 55% in 1985 and then rose to 60% in 2005. In contrast, recreational vehicles were the last choice of British consumers, having the lowest share of 15% at the start, then declining by 10% in 1985 before soaring to 8% at the end.
Lorries and other commercial cars stayed constant at 20% for the first two years, but were reduced by half in 2005. Meanwhile, public transport maintained its position in second place, standing at just over 20% throughout the given years.
