Overall, private cars made up the largest areas in the three periods, while recreational vehicles demonstrated the lowest figures in each year.
According to the data, private cars were the most popular among people in the UK, with the highest portion among the categories at 40 percent, 55 percent, and 60 percent in 1965, 1985, and 2005, respectively, experiencing the only stable upward trend among the other kinds of transportation.
Public transport displayed essentially lower figures in comparison with private cars, anyway, representing significant popularity with 67 percent, but with a downward trend from the 1960s to 2005. Lorries and other commercial vehicles showed no change at 20 percent in 1965, but saw significantly less in 2005, at the point of 10 percent. The recreational vehicles fraction was different in the pie charts at 15 percent at the beginning, at 5 percent in the middle, and at 8 percent at the end of the period, with the mean at 9.3 percent for 40 years.
