The given maps illustrate information regarding the main alternations which have taken place in a particular town named Westley during a 209-year period from 1815 to 2024.
Overall, what stands out from the maps is that the whole area has become much more modern and multifunctional with more recreational areas but fewer green spaces.
Looking at details, to the west of the town, the Twine Toll Bridge across the river has been converted into a lengthily railway which connected from the top-left corner to the bottom in the town. An interesting development is that the five large fields in the southwestern corner have been removed; there has been a Main Railway Station constructed near the end of the railway.
If we look at the right part of the town, the road has been extended with one more bend. In the first bend on the top of the map, Lordwestly’s house has been transformed into the Red Union and Lenton Hotel. To the south that bend, Lento Hunting Estate instead of trees being cut down is between the lake and sports center with museum. All houses have been demolished in the center and replaced by business and residential areas, though the Market Square and Town Hall still erect by the fourth bend of the path. In the fifth bend of the road, a cinema has been built and at the end of the path there has been a shopping, business and residential area connected.
