The two maps illustrate the Olympic and Paralympic village in the year 2000 and present day. Overall, while the size of the village has stayed roughly the same, various new facilities have been added in the present day.
First, the West End car park has increased in size and a new road has been created to connect the car park at the East end which in the present day has been shifted to the north of its previous location in 2000. The athlete accommodation building on the east side has been converted into a disabled athlete living area. In contrast, two more athlete quarters have been added in the southeast area of the village with a new multi-faith centre opened next to it.
Furthermore, the empty structure in the south end has been modified into a new medical building. The fitness centre has been expanded and the new welcome centre and village square area are to the south of it.
