The maps demonstrate how Dalton town changed between 1815 and 2015. Overall, there was a radical shift from an agricultural economy to industrial sectors with the new construction of more commercial buildings. Notably, the forest was chopped down significantly to make way for school and industrial zones.
Looking at the left-hand side of the pictures, it was seen that the Dalton Forest was cut down almost completely. In that place, the new erection of an industrial zone was recorded, including a northern hospital, houses in the left corner, and factories along the riverbank. Moreover, a new bridge was constructed across the two land sides, adjacent to the river Dal.
On the right-hand side, the places that used to be the forest and hall farm were converted into a large school, surrounded by a housing complex. In the east, Dalton Hall was moved to the northeast, and the place of this Hall was used for building a hotel in 2015. Finally, the airport was erected at the bottom during this period.
