The two maps illustrate how Dalton town has changed between 1815 and 2015.
Overall, this town has seen significant changes, including the expansion of housing, the construction of infrastructure and the removal of trees. These developments have made Dalton town more modern and convenient, transforming it into an industrialized area.
The western part in 1815 was dominated by Dalton Forest with several trees. By 2015, the forest had been cleared for the construction of houses, a hospital and an industrial zone involving numerous factories.
Turning to the eastern section, which was the residential area of Dalton town, it featured fewer houses, Dalton Hall and Hall Farm in 1815. In 2015, many accommodations were built, a hotel was established in Dalton Hall, and the Hall Farm had been demolished to make way for a school. Meanwhile, the bridleway in 1815 was converted into a road connected to a newly built bridge, enabling inhabitants to travel between the west and the east of Dalton town. Before the development, there was nothing near the River Dal; however, an airport and houses had been built in this area by 2015.
