The two maps delineate Tilden Airport and its surrounding area in the year 1985 and 2015. The top map illustrates the 1985 configuration, while the bottom map depicts the 2015 layout.
Overall, it is evident that there are some enhancement and modernization over a 20-year development. The addition of a new facilities and services are noticeable and became a more passenger-friendly services.
The location of the main runway, domestic terminal, and the car park are remain the same. International terminal is expanded into a L-shaped building and the Airport Support Services is changed into a bus and light rail station. The factories are shifted into a new services, the left side is used as a the new Airport Support Services, while the right side is built a new hotel and conference centre.
New addition, mainly in the area of Johnson’s Farm, are the new runway (runway 2), business park on the middle, and a residential estate on the northeast area. It is also worth to mention that a new transport hub is added. A light rail track is constructed on the north of the hotel and Airport Support Services.
