These two charts compare the expected line of work of psychology graduates versus the reality post graduating.

In general, psychology graduates are mostly expected to have their own private practice post graduate. However, in reality, psychology graduates predominantly end up working in the education field.

Post graduate, more than half of psychology graduates are anticipated to have their own private clinics with 68% percentage followed by those who work in the medical fields with 13%. The graduates are less likely to work in the education field or communities with having only 8% for each sector and only 2% of the graduates are predicted to work in other fields.

In reality, almost 50% of psychology graduates work in the education field followed by 26% working in community agencies. In contrast to the anticipated profession of psychology graduates, those who work in hospitals and medical centers have the least people with only 3% of the total graduates. Graduated psychology students who have private clinics get as far as only 16% of the total while 8% of the graduates end up working in other fields.
