The charts compares the differences in marital status between Canadian and Australian citizens.
Overall, Canadians are more likely to be separated than Australian, but otherwise, the charts display similar results. There are some differences in the proportions though, and an additional category in Canada’s pie chart.
The distribution of marital status in the two populations are very similar. In fact, married and separated people represent the vast majority of both pies. In Canada, more than half are separated but remained married, whilst only 41% of Australians did the same. Notably, only one percent of Canadians are divorced, twice less as Australians. Additionally, around half of the Australian population is in a registered as being in a relationship, while only 1/3 of the Canadian population is.
In terms of categories, a major difference exists between the two countries. Same sex marriage is only represented in Canada’s chart, whilst it does not exist in Australia’s.
