The pie charts illustrate data on the marital status of Australians and Canadians.
Overall, a significant part of the population is single in both of the countries. However, the number of married couples is greater in Australia. Surprisingly, same-gender marriage is legal in Canada.
Firstly, two main segments are leading in the demonstration, the married people are 29% and 46% in Canada and Australia respectively, while the couples who are legally married but are living in separate households in Canada are half in numbers making about 51%, whereas in Australia they are about 41%. This majority group accounts for a whopping 82% in Canada and 86% in Australia.
Secondly, talking about minority sections, unmarried and widows are almost the same in the population, as well as divorced. Legally separated couples are about 2% in Canada and 1% in Australia. The number of single people shares an almost similar trend in percentage of 7% in Canada and 5% in Australia. On the other hand, widows have only a difference of 1%, having 6% in Canada and 7% in the Australian nation.
