From an overall perspective, it is evident that people’s demands in all retail sectors mentioned had a fluctuation ratio over 5 years, in which, the consumption of the electronic and appliance sector is essential for people in Canada with a high percentage in the whole period survey.
Commencing with the year 2005, the number of electronic and appliance consumption got the highest ratio with 35% of online sales. The information for food and beverage as well as home furnishings were lower, around 22% and 25%, in the given order. In contrast, a reverse pattern could be observed in the ratio of video game expenses, which accounted for only 18%.
In 2010, the number of online sales for food and beverage increased sharply to 22%, 10% higher compared to the number of the first year. With a similar trend, video game expenditures also climbed slightly by 5%. Meanwhile, the data of electronics area and home furnishing consumption witnessed a decrease to 30% and 15%, respectively.
