Overall, the number of students in Canada increased in three countries, while in the USA, the total number of international students slightly decreased. The biggest change was the decrease of Indian students in the USA.
In Canada, the number of Chinese students increased from 5,400 to 8,000, which is a growth of 45%. Indian students also increased by 35%, from 2,100 to 2,800. The number of American students in Canada raised slightly, from 5,000 to 5,450. The number of students in Canada went up by 17%, from 60,000 to 70,004.
In the USA, the number of Indian students dropped from 200,000 to 182,000, by 9% decrease. Chinese students increased slightly by 6%, from 110,000 to 116,600. Canadian students in the USA increase by 7%, from 31,000 to 33,170. However, the total number of international students in the USA went down by 2%, from 581,600 to 570,000.
