The bar chart gives data about how much water was used for three main purposes in six Gulf countries in the year 2000.
From an overall perspective, one can see that argicultural consumption was the dominant sector in most countries. Another striking feature is the leading position of argicultural water use in Saudi Arabia and Oman, in comparison to the smallest amount was consumed in industrial purpose in UAE.
Looking at the use of argiculture, Oman and Saudi Arabia were the top users in this purpose, which Stood at about 80% . Meanwhile, the second most popular countries revealed a fairly similar pattern to the figures at approximately 60% , which was twice as high as that of Bahrain. However, Kuwait saw minimal consumption with just below 20% , making it the least favoured option among the countries.
In terms of domestic water use, consumption figures varied significantly across different countries. Bahrain and Kuwait recorded nearly the same percentage, all remaining more than 50% , and comparing to 25% in Qatar and UAE, while the other countries registered the lowest proportion. Noticeably, the purpose of industrial water maintained a low presence in most countries, at only under 5% , apart from Kuwait reached a relatively high rate of 20%.
