The diagram illustrates the man-made process used to produce ,store and distribute natural gas to consumers.
Overall, it is cleared that natural gas is obtained from both domestic and imported sources start at different stages and then delivered to retail customers using various transportation methods. A key feature is that larger storage and transport systems are used at earlier stages while smaller vehicles are employed for final delivery.
At the beginning of the process natural gas is extracted from gas wells and processed at a gas plant. In addition, gas is also obtained from oil wells via a refinery. Imported gas is another source and is combined with locally produced gas. All of these sources are then sent to the main underground storage facility.
From the underground storage, gas is transferred through pipelines to regional storage centers. At this stage, the guest is transported using large capacity vehicles including 40,000 L tankers and 24,000 litre wagons. These methods are suitable for moving gas over long distances.
In the final stage, gas is delivered to retail storage facilities, which can hold up to 120,000 litres. From their smaller delivery trucks with the capacity of 12,000 L distribute the gas directly to retail customers.
