The given line graph depicts the percentage of recycling rate for selected materials(paper & cardboard, glass containers, aluminium cans and plastics) in a country recorded from the year 1982 to 2010. Paper and cardboard are the most highly recycled materials in contrast to the plastics.
Considering paper and cardboard material, around 60% was recycled in the year 1982 and reached 70% in the year 1986 and then had a dip before reaching its peak in the year 1994. The majority of the material was recycled in the year 1994 followed by a slight decline over the years.
Getting into details of the glass containers, the recycling rate of this material has seen a steady fall from 50% in 1982 to 1990 at 40% followed by continuous rise until 2010 where it reached its highest of 60% recycling rate. Recycling of aluminium cans started in the early 1986 and continued to recycle with constant increase in the rate of recycling until 2010 with a maximum of around 40%. Plastics are least recycled with recycling rate ranging between 0 to 10% from the year 1990 to 2010.
