The line chart shows percentages of number of materials that were reused in a particular country in nearly a three-decade period.
Generally, more of each type of stuff was reutilised showing a growing trend towards sustainability after 1982.
Contrasting these substances, previously only 5% of aluminium cans were converted whereas it rose sharply to 45% in 2010. Plastics, on the other hand, showed a very slow growth from one in fifty being reclaimed to nearly nine in ten recycled after years.
The trough came about in paper & cardboard stuff at 80% in 1994 when glass containers were recycled lesser than previously. Amazingly, after a peak in its rate, they still showed the lowest overall rise in percentage, going from 65% to 70% after several years. Similarly, glass matter showed fluctuations; initially the rate of it being recovered fell but it took a few years to reprocess more of glass till 2 in 5 of them were converted in 2010.
In totality, though each of them showed a different trend in the period, more of these four matters are now being reprocessed as compared to few decades ago.
