In 2000 Singapore had led the upward trend with the 460 thousand of citizens, who used landline telephone, while number of people in Brunei Darussalam had been almost half as much. Until 2004, trends for owning a landline phone had lost popularity. In Singapore the amount had dipped to 430 thousands. Although, in Brunei Darussalam it had steadily plummeted to 246.
