The diagram shows the step-by-step process of producing ketchup in the factory.
Overall, there are 15 steps in the process, which begins with picking and sorting tomatoes and ends with the packaging and delivery of ketchup bottles.
The process starts when fresh tomatoes are picked and placed in baskets. These tomatoes are then sorted based on their quality before being sent to the factory, where they are processed afterward. At the factory, the tomatoes’ stalks, skins, and seeds are removed before the tomatoes are put in the containers where they are crushed into a paste. After that, extra ingredients including sugar, vinegar, and salt are added to the mixture which is then boiled.
The container is left open for two hours for the boiled ketchup to cool down before being poured into bottles which are then labeled and undergo the quality control stage. After this, the ketchup bottles are packaged and finally delivered to supermarkets where they are purchased to be used with fast food such as hamburgers and fries.
