The charts compare the four locations and the three types of dance classes attended by young people in Australia.
Overall, it is clear that most of the young people preferred to take dance classes in private studios, whereas fewer people wanted to take classes in college-based studios. Additionally, under 11 age group students were the largest portion in both dance types except for modern dance.
To begin with, the lowest location of dance classes was college-based studios, at 10%. In contrast, private studios recorded the highest proportion, accounting for 48%, followed by school halls, at a percentage of 24%. Meanwhile, the figure for community halls and others was under 18%.
On the other hand, the people under 11 most preferred to take the ballet classes, at around 600 students, while the figure for the modern classes was higher for the 11-16 group people, at nearly 550 students. However, the proportion for the modern classes was lower in the under 11 group, at approximately 300 students. Meanwhile, there were only a few students in the 11-16 age group who attended the ballet classes, at around 300. Moreover, the figures for the tap classes ranged between nearly 400 students and 500 students for both age groups.
