The bar chart illustrates the figure of landline phones for each thousand people in 9 countries between 2000, 20002, and 2004. Overall, a marked upward and downward trend in landline telephones can be seen in most of the countries, while in some of them the trend did not emerge by the 2004.
From 2000 to 2004, trends in landline phones in Cambodia and Vietnam increased from under 25 per 1000 people to 50, and during the period from 2000 to 2002 Vietnam had demonstrated a rapid rise than Cambodia.
Similarly, Indonesia and Thailand followed a mere increase, around 10 landline phones for each hundred people. However, compared to the former two countries, by 2004, the trend had disappeared.
In contrast, Singapore, Philippines, and Brunei Darussalam witnessed a downward trend, Brunei Darussalam and Singapore remaining almost unchanged between 2000 and 2002. Conversely, in 2004, the three countries experienced a fall, respectively, the former remaining the highest, and the latter the second.
The figure of landline telephones in Lao PDR and Myanmar, however, followed a falling trend, merely reaching the bottom of the statistics, standing at the bottom, in over a five-year period.
