The data displays the percentage of British individuals 25-34 years old owning and renting homes in the United Kingdom between 2004 and 2014.
Overall, the number of home owners descended throughout the given period, whereas the percentage of renters increased and reached a peak at the same period of time.
Between 2004 and 2013 number of people renting houses rose gradually and reached its peak in 2014, being just below 50 percent. In 2004 share of individuals owning houses fall steadily from its biggest value at approximately 58 percent to its lowest value at around 35 percent in 2014.
As shown from the data, in 2005 and 2006 share of homes owners and renters was stable, with values around 25 percent for renters and slightly above 55 percent of home owners. Surprisingly, in 2011 and 2012 their values were similar, being just over 40 percent. There was a reversal: the proportion of home owners was higher initially, but renters overtook it later.
