The graph illustrates the employment rates of women between 16 and 65 years old in five different countries over a six-year period from 2003 to 2009.
Overall, Germany and Chile experienced consistently upward trends in terms of the rates of female employment , while the others witnessed some fluctuation . Additionally ,the UK maintained the highest number of female workers steadily.
In 2003, the UK employment rate for 16 to 65 years old women hovering at around 80%,after which it rose to 85% by 2007 before slightly dipped to 80% in 2009.In contrast, Turkey and Canada decreased 5% and 10% respectively by 2007,although they growth back to 15% and 75% in the final year.
Moreover, Germany steadily rose from 50% to 65% of women having job in six-year period without any changes. Chile followed a similar trend ,albeit a lesser extent. The figure stood at 40% in 2003 before rising consistently to reach 50% in 2009
