Dear Emily,
I hope this letter finds you in good spirits. I apologize for not writing sooner, and I feel compelled to address an unfortunate incident regarding the dress I borrowed from you.
I know how much you cherish your belongings, particularly your dresses. Regrettably, the dress sustained damage during a bike accident on the way to my cousin’s wedding. While riding with my brother, the long flare of the dress accidentally got caught in the bike’s tire. Despite my efforts to stop him, one side of the dress was torn, leaving a noticeable hole.
I sincerely regret this mishap, as I understand the importance of taking care of your items. To remedy the situation, I have already taken the dress to a tailor. He has assured me that he can repair the torn part by tomorrow evening, and it will look as good as new.
I hope you can understand the circumstances and forgive me for this mistake. I will visit you soon to return the dress in its restored condition.
Best regards,
Anam
