Dear Councillor,

My name is Harper Jean Tobin and I am a constituent in your district, residing at 19 Cuba Street. I am writing to request your assistance regarding an enormous pothole directly in front of my house. While there had been a smaller pothole in this spot for some time, in recent weeks it has grown to be nearly a foot across. On several occasions, I have seen it cause damage to cars, or nearly cause accidents as drivers swerved to avoid it.

While I understand that there are many road repair issues for the Department of Public Works to address throughout the city, I hope you will agree that this is one that should be prioritized. This has progressed beyond an inconvenience to become a public safety hazard. Please have your consistent services team convey this request to DPW staff. Better yet, please do so yourself.

Going forward, I hope you will support appropriate budgetary increases to enable DPW to pursue a more proactive approach to road repair, and to ensure that repairs are long-lasting. In the meantime, please help me and all my neighbors by making this repair a priority.
