The table illustrates the information on UK acid rain emission from four different sectors, measured in millions of tonnes in the year of 1991 to 2007.
Generally, the emission of 3 sectors, electricity, gas, and water supply, domestic, and other industries showed downward while the emission from transport and communication was gradually rising.
In 1991, it can be clearly seen that the emissions from electricity, gas, and water supply was the most used with 3.4 million tonnes in 1991. The emissions decreased sharply in only 0.5 million tones in the end of period. From domestic and other industriesfell markedly from about 2.1 million tonnes to 1.3 million tonnes over the given period of sixteen years. In contrast, the emission from transportation and communication has gradually increased from 0.6 million tonnes in 1991 to 1 million tonnes in 2005 but then decreased in the last period.
In summary, the emission from transportation and communication experienced a rapid upward tendency over the given period although it has dropped in the last of the year.
