The pie charts compare the percentage of time working adults spent on different activities in different country between 1958 and 2008.
Overall, there were significant changes in percentages after 50 years. Working and relaxing gain a minor increases in 2008, while time spent with friends and sleeping decreased noticeably.
In 1958, the largest amount of time that adult spent was working with 33% followed by sleeping with 32%. Going out with friends and family was also a major activity, around 19% that time. In contrast, small amount of time were spent relaxing at home (8%), doing other interest or playing sports (6%), and travelling to work (2%).
By 2008, working had a significant increase adding up to 42% that year. Relaxing at home also rose to 13% which is 5% higher than before. Meanwhile, time spent for sleeping fell to 25%. Social activity outside got the most noticeable decline, dropping from 19% to 6%. Other aspect such as travelling to work also increases up to 8%, while other interests or sports rose slightly to 8%
In conclusion, adults in 2008 spent more time working and staying at home, but less time sleeping and socialising compare with those ind 1958.
