The above bar chart illustrates the relation between numbers of honey bee colonies and manufacture of honey in tonnes over the period of four decades in United States.
Overall, number of bee colonies was 4.2 millions marking the highest in the year 1980 where it was lowest of 1.8 millions in 2010. Chart shows the downward trends showing significant growth in the first decade reaching all time high.
Production of honey in year 1970 shows more quantity manufactured but 2010 had the least. In the initial years, production was highest with 130,000 tonnes where it reduced to 70,000 in the final year. Trends fluctute in between 1980 to 2000 showing significant growth and decline.
Despite of high number of bee colonies in year 1980, production of honey was not the largest whereas large mass of bees colonies could not produced the highest tonnes of honey in 1980.
