From 1970 to 1980, the number of honey-bee colonies was approximately 4 and 4.5 millions. Nevertheless, it had started to decrease one million after 1980 and continue to decline steadily until 2010. The number of honey-bee colonies was at its’ lowest level, with approximately 1.5 million colonies.

Honey production of US had continued by fluctuating between 1970 and 1990. From 70s’ to 90s’ the number of honey production declined from 130.000 to 110.000 and it rose 120.000 again. After 1990, there was steady decrease until 2010. It declined from 120.000 to 70.000 in 20 years.
